Copied from a photo Kelly Brooks (kellybrooks.tumblr.com) took of Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia.
I usually forget about these. Slowly but surely, I want to make hundreds of them. Although, I’m not sure if I have room (or a purpose) for hundreds of crazy house paintings. They’re all on gesso’d masonite board painted in acrylic and sharpies. Easy peasy.
Who’s the fourth wheel?
I’ve come to realize that most of my work is ultra bright and cheery. Even though, when I’m painting and drawing, I’m not necessarily in a cheery mood. It’s just what eventually happens after a few hours work. I don’t mind. I’m starting to actually see coherence and similarities in my work, therefore, developing a body of work that could maybe, just maybe, be presented in a gallery.
Not sure if I’m done yet. Any suggestions? I’m open to constructive criticism!
Made for Kelly Belly. With love.
I think her bum is a little large. Oh well! This was taken and recreated from a life drawing class I took back in college. On wooden panel.
Pieces from my college portfolio in 2008/09. You can view the entire portfolio at http://ashleybooneportfolio2009.blogspot.com/
Finished and framed. Don’t mind the glare on the glass.
More yellow.
A complete spur of the moment painting. I used A LOT of yellow paint. It’s on a 24”x24” jumbo canvas. On display at 109 Kimberley Ave here in Bracebridge.
